Fava beans are an alternative substitute as they are flat, green legumes which can be eaten raw or cooked, but you will need to remove their clear skin first. They make an excellent alternative to lima beans, with a similar shape and nutty flavour. Fava provides punchier flavour with a bitter undertone it’s also less starchy. If you use them in any dish, you may want to reduce the amount to avoid overwhelming the other ingredients.

A very good and popular substitute for lima bean’s would have to be the fava beans also known as broad beans. They are very similar in taste and texture.

Substitute for lima beans is fava beans because they look alike and can be used in different dishes. But fava beans have mild flavor than lima beans, they are creamy, firmer, slightly sweeter and bitter. But they make the best substitute due to appearance
